From the TV show Höhle der Löwen (Lion's Den) to proprietary technology that now delivers thousands of meals every week – this case tells the story from an initial idea to the Smart Fridge, which is now found in offices across Switzerland.

An employee at CARBOGEN AMCIS AG saw us on TV, on the show Höhle der Löwen.
He liked our concept – fresh, healthy, restaurant-quality meals – and wanted to order our food for his employees.

I arrived at the first meeting full of ideas. I suggested one solution – it didn't fit. A second – not that either. A third – still not right. But each conversation brought us closer to the actual idea.

Then Patrick from CARBOGEN AMCIS AG said the sentence that changed everything:

“We need a fridge with your food.”

Thus, the Eat Unique Smart Fridge was born.

At that time, we only had good food and experience from the Rebstock restaurant.
No technology, no finished system – just the desire to make healthy eating simpler and more accessible.

We took this idea and, together with CARBOGEN AMCIS AG, developed our first Eat Unique Smart Fridge – with payment via all common systems, the ability to simply select a dish on the screen, pay, and enjoy a fresh lunch after three minutes.
No cash register. No queue. No waiting.

This is how the story of Eat Unique began – not with a finished product, but with experiments, determination, and the belief that healthy eating doesn't have to be complicated, but smart.

Today, our fridges are in dozens of offices across Switzerland. At CARBOGEN AMCIS AG, we now deliver to two locations weekly – Hunzenschwil and Aarau. Every week, we cook over 100 different menus for them: breakfasts, lunches, and desserts – fresh, balanced, and full of flavor.

And we still remember that moment when it all started – with a simple sentence:

“We need a fridge with your food.”
